Free Lube Oil Filter Day at Davis GMC Buick

We are all very pleased to inform all of you that we will be hosting our 15th Annual Free Lube, Oil, Filter Day at Davis GMC Buick

For 15 years Davis GMC Buick has run the Free Lube, Oil, Filter Day!  Customer driving any make or model can stop in to Davis and with a minimum donation of $45 you can get your oil changed and you will be issued a tax receipt!

All the money donated will be given to the Lethbridge Food Bank as well as Lethbridge Interfaith Food Bank!

The Lube, Oil, Filter day will be happening at 115 WT HILL BLVD S Lethbridge on December 3rd, 2011 from Saturday at 8am-12pm!!!

Like always there is no appointment necessary for your oil change and if you wish you can have a shuttle driver take you to whever it is you need to be!

Every year is a huge success and we only have the people of Lethbridge and its surrounding communities to thank!

Getting Ready for the 2012 IIHF World Juniors

We’re prepping for our IIHF World Junior Championship ticket give-away!!!

The 2012 IIHF World Junior Championship is right around the corner and we have 2012 IIHF Tickets for you! This years event is being held in Calgary and Edmonton, so our team has a chance to take back their Gold medals at home! Many of the top stars in todays NHL once represented Canada at the tournament, and this years slew of youngsters will someday be skating with your favorite NHL teams.

You can win tickets to the Round Robin games, Playoff games, and even the Gold and Bronze Medal games; we’re giving away 40 sets of tickets! Any purchase in our Sales, Service, Tire Centre, Quick Lube, Parts Department, Detail Center or Body Shop earns a ballot to enter you in a draw to win 1 pair of tickets to a World Junior Round Robin game in Calgary.

There will also be a Grand Prize contest held on Dec. 29 at Davis GMC Buick to determine the winners of the Gold and Bronze Medal tickets. 100 lucky winners will be drawn from our ballot boxes to have an opportunity to “Shoot to Win” for our Grand Prize tickets!

Do you have the right tires for winter?

At Davis GMC Buick we want winter driving to be its safest it can be!

If you are like most vehicle owners, you probably have “all season” tires which your vehicle was factory equipped with.  While they are designed to handle most driving condition, they may not be suitable for heavier snow and ice.

If you regularly encounter the snow, ice and slush of our Alberta winters then you are going to need winter tires in Lethbridge.

Winter tires give you that extra traction, braking and handling you will need to confidently drive on snow and ice.  They have specialized rubber compounds and tread designs to handle the cold temperatures.  The tread remains flexible to prevent snow buildup and help  with traction on snow and ice.

Tests that have been conducted on ice show that even at 20kph, vehicles equipped with winter tires stopped from 1/2 to a full car length shorter than identical vehicles on all season tires.  All season tires will begin to lose their grip when the temperature drops below 7 degree Celsius.  When the temperature regularly becomes warmer than the 7 degrees Celsius we recommend the removal of winter tires to ensure that they do no wear prematurely.
